Good Luck Ryan Harrow

First of all, I want to wish Ryan Harrow the greatest of luck at Georgia State. He will be a great player for them and will do good things, maybe even help them to the NCAA tournament. Calipari has known he was transferring since the day Harrow “had a bad sickness” and was away from the team for a few games. The truth is I knew about this all along and even shared it with some of our members. As you know if you have been on Twitter, Ryan’s dad is in bad health right now and so the NCAA will grant him a waiver to not have to sit out a year. I was always told Ryan will graduate in May anyways so regardless he will be able to transfer there and play right away. So now I will share with you what happened.

Ryan has a lot of pressure to be very successful because his family needs him to be and this put a lot of pressure on him to become the next guard at UK to go to the NBA to get that pay day. Unfortunately with the stress from his family and our fan-base expecting him to do well as our guard, he started to get depressed. This led to him quitting the team and going home, because he couldn’t take the pressure. John Calipari knowing his family situation and the stress of being the UK guard set up a meeting with him to go over his options. Calipari told him to take his time of coming back, but he needed to come back and finish the season. He told him if he did this he would promise to get him into the best situation at another team if he wanted to transfer to be closer to his family.

They agreed and he came back to finish the year as a Wildcat, and behind the scenes Kentucky started working with the NCAA explaining his situation and made them aware of him wanting to be closer to home. It is really a great thing to have a coach reach out and help a troubled man that was just reacting in the moment, and helping him get closer to his family and play right away.

I truly respect Ryan Harrow and wish him nothing but the best. I will follow his career and will always cheer him on.

Good luck Ryan Harrow… and GO CATS

Andrew Wiggins Update 3/1

Here is the update that you have been waiting for, and hopefully you will get satisfaction out of it.  All along many people including myself have said that Wiggins was likely to go to Florida State. Here is why we were saying this, and as many times as I wanted to explain this in the past I just never could do so. A lot of us that follow recruiting have our main contacts that we get our information from, and so when we check up on a certain recruit, normally we will get the same information that isn’t worth even reporting to the public. All along I have been told that Wiggins doesn’t like attention and wants to stay out of the spotlight… “LET ME TELL YOU NOW THAT IS NOT TRUE AND IT DOESN’T MATTER.” On to another note, and why we have always said it was down to Florida State and Kentucky, and that at this time FSU leads for his services. There are many reasons why this is the case. First of all, you never want to be the leader so early on in the process. What do I mean by that? I mean new teams like Kansas and North Carolina try to get into the recruiting process and sees that FSU is leading, and so they find ways to show Wiggins and his family why their team can provide better opportunities then FSU.
This leads me into my last point and this goes with the visits of his parents. Andrew Wiggins knows that he is one of the best prospects to ever come out and he wants to not only go to the best opportunity to achieve his GOAL of a NCAA Championship, but also wants the support of his family on whatever school he chooses. Here is the last reason I’ve always said FSU leads, and this is because I knew all along that until his parents visited all the schools, he knew they wouldn’t fully support his decision, even though they would be alright with him going to a school they didn’t visit. This is why it was so huge for them to make these last three visits with him. On Wednesday and Thursday they visited Kentucky, March 3rd they will visit Kansas, and March 8th they will visit North Carolina.

After all visits are made he will sit down with his family and decide what school is the best location for him. Until all of the visits are made you will never really hear anything but positive things about all of the schools…

BONUS: Here is what will in the long run make UK prevail over other schools, and that is his parents blessing. They loved Calipari, and his approach when it came to Andrew Wiggins and his future. Like Calipari does best, he told his parents that he will not start just because of his ranking, he like all the other players on the team must earn their time. He told them their son shouldn’t come to UK if he doesn’t plan to work hard, and isn’t here to get better. All of these things influenced his parents big time, and I love the honesty by Calipari.

As of today I know it is still down to Kentucky and Florida State, and in the past as many times I said that FSU would get Wiggins, it was because of many of the reasons above. That is the thing with recruiting and this is why I try to tell a lot of you the procedures so that you know things change.

Once all the visits are done I’ll have clear answer on where he will end up…

Class of 2015 Prospect George Brown Jr.

One of the top prospects in the Class of 2015 George Brown Jr plays for Colerain Cardinals of Cincinnati Ohio. In college he will likely play Offensive Tackle as currently he is 6'6 and weighs 253 pounds. I had a chance to talk to him, and ask him a few questions about the recruiting process.

Me: So far who are you getting most love from when it comes to coaches?
George: Right now I hear the most from Kentucky, Miami Hurricanes, and Ole Miss

Me: Do you want to play at same school as cousin?
George: Definitely, both Mike Edwards and I will play at the same school. "His cousin is Mike Edwards who is Class of 2014"

Me: Which fanbase do you hear from the most?
George: That is easy, I have mostly UK followers.

Me: If you ever feel like your ready to make decision will you commit, or do you want to wait for certain moment?
George: Once I know where I want to go, I will commit somewhere. No need to wait.

One great thing about his comment about him wanting to play with cousin is that UK has offered both of them. It will be interesting to see where Mike Edwards commits, because likely it means that school would be getting one of the top prospects for 2015 as well.

The Future will be Bright

I wanted to take the time and give everyone an update on the future. First and foremost I have to explain what led me to this idea and why I decided to go this route. Some people message me or tweet me stating my style and our group is rude and worthless, and it will never amount to anything. To those people they're so blinded by their own ego that they never realize full picture. Many people I see who make their fancy sites or blogs don't have ANY experience in that field and don't really realize the right away of promoting their brand.

As many of you know I started with Marc Maggard I use to follow him all of the time when I was 18 and really looked up to him on the way he provided recruiting news to the Kentucky fans. After several years of watching the way he did things, and realizing how much he charged his members I decided I wanted to do something different. I decided the best way to get known and gain knowledge was to attend lots of AAU tournaments, and watch basketball like my life depended on it. Around 2 years ago, I was fortunate enough to meet Micah Pearson who gave me the opportunity to join not only Big Blue Topia, but also their Facebook group Cal's Cats 3.0 to post about recruiting, and I always told him I would have loyalty to him. Although him and I don't talk day to day we have a mutual respect for each other, now that you guys know the history of me a little bit it brings me to my GREAT NEWS...

I am currently in my senior year at Indiana University, yes I'm 26 years old, but I came back to school because I promised my parents I would always graduate college and do something I love to do which is cover, write, and play sports. I am really close to my family and to make them proud is my number one goal. My love is to communicate about sports with others, just like our group does, involve as many as possible for a common love, and to me it isn't about making money, unfortunately to others it is. Yes eventually I will have a more professional occupation, but this thing we have going at BBN Wildcats will continue strong.

NOW TO THE GREAT NEWS... SORRY FOR BACKSTORY...

I have been working at Indiana University on a website that will be something that NO other site has, and will have the best features anyone can provide. Not only will it be the best, but it will be so convenient for all of the UK fans, that I predict our members to grow to outstanding numbers. Although many other sites and current members, don't think our group is that great, time and time again we are on top of the news, and many times break news before anyone else does, and now with this site we will be able to prove this.

This site will do the following:
All posts made on Cal's Cats 3.0 will have its own section for those who want all kinds of Kentucky news.
All posts made on BBN Wildcats will be in own section covering all UK recruiting news.
All Tweets made from the top providers of UK news will have a sidebar that will show all of their tweets.

NOW: Here is what will make our site different, our site will have forums if you want to post random things about UK and talk about things, just like Facebook where people can comment and be involved, also will have lists of UK Basketball and Football Target pages, Offers, Visits coming up, Commitments, Videos, Articles, and etc.

With all of these things put together on one site it will be the top site to go to for any UK news. I am still working on the site design.

* Also if you don't like websites, and you still want to post on just the Facebook group like you do now, you will still be able to do that, and your comments will still mirror over to the website, talk about technology.

ANYWAYS THAT IS THE UPDATE, AND I HOPE YOU ARE AS EXCITED AS I AM, MY GOAL IS TO NOT MAKE ALL OF YOU PAY FOR THE INFORMATION YOU GET, PEOPLE LIKE TBK, SCOUT, RIVALS, AND OTHERS I KNOW WORKING TOWARDS THAT GOAL CHARGE WAY TO MUCH FOR THEIR CONTENT.

Go Cats...
