#2 PG in 2012 enjoys visit...leaves with an offer...

The #2 point guard in the 2012 class, LJ Rose came in to visit for the UK/Indiana matchup and left with an official offer.

Some UK fans were shocked when the #1 point guard in the 2012 class Rodney Purvis committed to UofL.  It is surprising that Purvis felt that Pitino was the best place for him, with Pitino's lack of ability to develop point guards over the years.

It isn't a surprise that he didn't choose UK.  UK was recruiting him hard until it was made clear that Purvis wanted to start right out of the gate.  He is a very talented player and does deserve to start somewhere as a freshman.  Cal would not offer this to him, he never promses playing time.

This factor and players responding they aren't going anywhere unless they are promised a starting position, has forced UK and some top talented players to part ways.  This is an easier indication on if a player is a giver or taker.  Cal doesn't want anything to do with "It's all about me" type of players.

Marquis Teague although very talented is not expected to be a one and done player.  Which means Purvis may have not been able to be the floor general that he wants to be.  LJ Rose was made aware of this and he seemed fine to come off the bench for a year if needed.  This allowed an official offer to be put out to him.

At this point there is no indication that Rose is any hurry to commit anywhere, but currently, signs are pointing on Rose being the next in line of top talented point guards, to come through the man named John Calipari.
