Thursday Notes

-The most exciting news for me today is the Canadian games will be televised in various areas.  It is still up in the air on which networks will pick it up but currently: Lexington, Owensboro, Bowling Green and the Eastern Kentucky areas are on board.  I living in Owensboro am good to go.  Owensboro at times has been labeled as the black hole when it comes to UK sports because we receive our locals from Evansville, Indiana and because of this the Kentucky ties isn't as traditionally strong as other areas.  I remember one year they put on a Purdue vs some mid major game instead of a Kentucky vs. North Carolina...I was ticked.

The games start Aug. 15th, click the link for further details: http://www.ukathletics.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/061110aaa.html

-Ramon Harris is now a pro as he signed a contract in Slovakian team Astrum Levice.

-Doug Gottlieb has picked Kanter to be the #1 pick in the 2011 draft.  Kanter is still not cleared by the clearinghouse to play for UK next season.

-Looks like Nike isn't that happy about Wall signing with Reebok, Cal and UK are big Nike people so a little damage control is in order but it isn't that big of a deal.  Cal didn't push Reebok on Wall.  It does help UK in a way because it shows all recruits that you can fall in with Nike when go pro if you want but at UK you can do whatever you want, the money and deals will be offered from all directions.

-Azuibuike might be headed to the Knicks

-Lebron makes his announcement tonight, it is the most hyped up free agent signing ever...I half way expect him to come out with a table of hats and the guy from ESPNU with the big tie will break it down for us...Lebron is currently at his camp for high schoolers.
