Sunday Rumblings

I will add to this throughout the day if more news occurs:

-Doesn't look good on Ross.  Looks like UK has pulled out of recruiting him, possibly because of his academic situation.  It is harder to academically get into Washington than UK, so I don't see how he could be eligible for this upcoming season.  He will likely commit to Washington, then head to juco or prep and Cats may still be in the picture down the road.

-Jones and Leslie not a whole lot has changed.  They seem to still be 50/50.  Leslie with NC State and Jones with Washington.  There are some concerns with Jones taking the Kansas visit and Leslie taking the UCONN visit, but both schools do not answer the only thing that is keeping both Jones and Leslie committing to UK...distance.  Both Leslie and Jones love UK but also love being close to home...it would be a shock to see either pick UCONN or Kansas.

So with both being a coin toss, there is a 25% of getting neither, 25% of just getting Leslie, 25% of just getting Jones and 25% chance of getting both at this point.

Using that logic we have a 75% chance of getting one of the two.  We need one of the two to not be crazy small this coming season.  If we were to get both we would be a legit team for a title by the time all the freshman develop and its tourney time.

-In football news three UK players were drafted.  Peters in round 3 to the Falcons, Lindley in round 4 to the Eagles, and Conner round 5 to the Jets.

I have heard from my cousin is friends with Joker and had the opportunity to watch some of the practices and I have also heard this from others and they seem to believe Hartline is winning the quarterback race and Moss is second and Newton is in a distant third.  Newton who most believed would be the man is struggling passing and Hartline and Moss although may have less athletic skills are drilling him in the passing department.

  1. Micah, I read somewhere this morning that Terrence Jones' mother didn't accompany him to Kansas, which would seem a positive sign for us.
