Survive and Move On: UK vs. Alabama Post Game Analysis

-UK improves to 30-2 after beating Alabama 73-67.

-With work I didn't catch the pre game and post game show, if anyone did and heard anything interesting let me know.

-Thanks Dodson for keeping our streak alive! Dodson hits a 3 at the buzzer to bring the deficit down to 5 but on a bigger scale, it kept our three point streak alive. UK went 1-13 from three...that is awful.

-We survived but we did not play like a final four level team. We were drilled on the rebounds 44-32. We are the biggest team in the country; we just didn't want it as much.
-Wall and Patterson had good games, Wall with 23, Patterson with 20. Bledsoe had a decent game. Stevenson came in and gave decent minutes going 2-2 from the field.

-Free throw shooting was not bad, 22-29 (75.9%)

-Cousins only put up 4 shots, he has got to fight for the ball more. He should have more shots then that just from offensive rebounds. He never claimed an offensive rebound and this is an area we really depend on him for...even Stevenson received an offensive rebound and he only played 8 minutes.

-Half of the SEC teams are finished; UK plays UT tomorrow at 1 eastern on ABC.

-In other SEC news, Auburn's head coach Jeff Lebo was let go today. He has been the head coach at Auburn since 2004. That is at least two straight coaches at Auburn to be forced out; Cliff Ellis coached Auburn for ten seasons before seeing the axe.

Some critics believe Lebo should have had the opportunity to recruit to their new arena they will be using next season. Others argue it is the best time to get a good hire with the new arena being enticing. We shall see how it works out. My sister is a freshman there, so I have rooted for Auburn as long as they were not playing UK, so I hope they are able to make it happen. There were many critics when we let BCG go and well I think we made the right move... :-)
