Another Louisville commit ruled ineligible?

Louisville's 2010 class may have just taken a nose dive and may now be officially claimed as the biggest bust of a class before they have played one game of basketball. 

Again we are talking about the what would be freshman this year at Louisville, not the 2011 class who may or may not end up being #2 behind UK. 

You have Justice who received a scholarship but would have received a walk on spot at best at practically any top 25 program but Louisville had the room.  He is an unranked three star 5'11 point guard.  A good walk on but not a strong scholarship player.


Then you have Russ Smith, who is a 3 star unranked 5'10 point guard. 

Neither to my knowledge received a scholarship offer from any prestigous program.

Then you have Justin Coleman a solid 4 star #50 ranked player...but he is ruled ineligible...knock that one off...

That's ok, UofL still has Roburt Sallie a transfer from Memphis who graduated from Memphis but wanted to use up his year of eligibility by transferring to a grad school and not have to sit out a year to do so.  But wait...he didn't graduate in time and lost out.  Next!

Of course I do some reporting some 2 star guy named Richie Pares on the team who wasn't offered by Western Kentucky...must be a walk on but with all the openings likely to be given a scholarship for the year...

Now Louisville has one decent player left in this class in Gorgui Dieng, a four star, who is a solid project player from Africa.  The talk is he is or will be soon ruled ineligible based upon his classwork in Africa. 

Evan Daniels and UofL representatives are stating Dieng is not been ruled ineligible but is in fact in waiting and his case has not been ruled on yet.

Many times this information is leaked this way because it softens the blow once the news comes out that he has in fact been ruled ineligible.  If it comes as a complete shock, it causes more drama typically.  Of course if you are a Louisville fan, you might say that it is just a bad rumor...like UK fans would like to say about anyone who says Kanter is ineligible. 

So time will tell.  All I know is if Dieng is ruled ineligible, Louisville will consider it a good season if they can make it to the NIT. 

Pitino and company better hope they get some more 2011 commits before they suit up, they are not on course to shine a positive light on their program this season...
