-Kyle Wiltjer is the #22 five star 6'9 power forward in the 2011 class. He has recently cut his list to seven schools Kentucky, California, Georgia Tech, Gonzaga, Kansas, Texas and Wake Forest.
Despite Davis' commitment, UK's top priority is still another post player. UK will likely be losing Jones and Kanter after one year and Harrelson will be graduating. Even in the dribble drive offense you still need some verstaile bigs.
What UK really likes about Wiltjer is the protype college player that he seems to be. He doesn't look to be a one and done type of player but a guy who would bring UK some stability for three to four years.
We are not talking about a player who is sub par but more of a guy like Liggins and Miller who would be a great role player here until it is his time to be a leader.
He is also a player that would more then likely be ok with coming off the bench in his sophomore year when UK likely brings in a few top talent bigs.
Wiltjer is also known to be very coachable. Not one of those guys who causes any drama. Cal can handle guys like that but you need guys like Patterson to show how a basketball player should act. Wiltjer will be able to play this role.
UK has gotten in late on Wiltjer compared to the other six programs that made the cut. The good news is there must have been something special about UK. There were other top tier programs trying to get in on him late and they didn't make the cut.
