The #8 player via Rivals and #5 via Scout in the 2011 class 6'9/6'10 C/PF, Anthony Davis has committed to UK.
He technically committed to Coach Cal on his unofficial visit Sunday August 1st but has not went public with this commitment until today.
Six months ago, Davis was not widely known around the nation. Demarcus Cousins was a guy who was ranked as the best freshman in the country and never looked back. Many believe if Davis was like Cousins and always in the lime light he would be ranked even higher then 8th and 5th if you can imagine that...
Within a year he has grown 6 inches and now has guard skills in a post players body...which is pefect for the dribble drive offense.
According to Davis, "Coach [John] Calipari is easy to talk to and he listens to what you are saying,"
"[Calipari] will be a father figure to me away from home. He's a demanding coach that will not tell me what I want to hear, but what I need to hear to improve."
Davis joins top rated guard Teague and top rated forward Gilchrist.
Davis has likely sealed UK's third straight #1 class and we are not finished.
This commitment was not a huge surprise but more of a timing situation with the latest unfounded rumors by the Sun Times claiming Davis was paid off.
-In what is some sad news is Kanter is still not been cleared by the NCAA, so he will be staying in Lexington...there still nothing but speculation on when the NCAA will make their ruling.
