Cal will be sacrificing time he could be spending fighting for recruits and will head to Haiti according to Steve Moss of WKYT,"The coach and a few friends get the week started by traveling to Haiti on Wednesday. You'll recall Coach Cal and his players spearheaded an effort to raise money for earthquake victims through the "Hoops for Haiti" Telethon. The 5-hour telethon raised more than $1 million, a staggering amount, considering the money was collected locally and is going out of the state.
Calipari and his group will tour some of the areas hardest hit by the quake, and thanks to Nike, will deliver shoes to needy kids in Haiti. Cal is scheduled to fly to New York just in time for Thursday's draft.
As a proud sponsor of the "Hoops for Haiti" effort, WKYT will accompany Calipari to the earthquake ravaged country. Sam Dick and John Wilson will bring you reports from Haiti, beginning Wednesday."
