Two pieces of news floating around the UK water cooler...
1) Rumor has it Kenny Payne will be visiting Lex Vegas this weekend...maybe Cal seal the deal on this major assistant coach prospect
2) A recruit that has contacted UK is Royce White. For those who don't recognize this name, he used to play for Minnesota. He was believed to be involved in a theft of a labtop and made a very odd video (that can be seen below) of him saying goodbye to Minnesota and hanging up the game of basketball. He didn't stick with that and came back to the team, didn't see action and then decided to transfer citing he couldn't trust the college police...which was the oddest transfer reason I have ever heard.
So would UK even consider White? He was an All American and ranked in the top 20 in the 2009 class. So he clearly has talent but the question is does he have his head on straight? Who knows and it doesn't seem UK even knows if they are truly interested. White contacted UK in the past week and UK is looking into it. It is believed on White's side that if UK was to offer he would commit. It is unclear if he would have to sit out a year or not.
Wouldn't that be truely ironic if this White kid can turn things around after Tubby gives him the boot!
ReplyDeleteHe may have talent, but may be too much a disruptive factor on the squad if even Tubby couldn't keep him in line ~lol. I'd take a pass on this guy, but Cal may see something redeeming in him face-to-face.
