The day after...surprise recruit for 2010???

-It was great to be a Cat fan today, to bad I don't hang around many non UK fans to truly gloat in the glory of Jones...

-Andy Katz reported today that Cal said he may add one more to the class.  So who is he talking about?  I will assume Cal is referring to UTEP transfer Arnett Moultrie.  He has recently stated UK and Texas are his leaders and it is believed that he wants out of the state of Texas.

Question is, would you truly count him in the 2010 class? He will have to sit out a year and would not be eligible to play until 2011-2012.  He would count as a scholarship spot since players sitting out take a scholarship spot despite not being eligible and he would still be practicing with the team.

Marcus Thornton just committed to Georgia. I don't believe any of the other names such as Jack, Pittman, Dibo, or Hill.   None of these guys have offers and would not likely see minutes as a freshman and if they can't help this season, then would not be helpful because we will have a lot more top talent to pick from in the 2011 class.

A name to keep a look for is 6'5 junior guard Robert Sallie.  Sallie played for three years at Memphis, two under Cal...he is a Cal recruit.  He has decided to transfer and according to this article: http://www.gotigersgo.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/051910aaa.html

He will be getting his degree this summer and that would apparently allow him to transfer without sitting out a year.  I guess the NCAA wnats to allow people to pursue their masters without being punished for finding a different school that has a master's program or a better one.  Not all schools have a master's program and if a player does get his degree in three years, then what would he do in that fourth year?

So why would we want him? He provides experience in the ddmo, to help out the younger players.  He would only be taking the scholarship for a year, freeing it back up for 2011.  He was a guy Cal left in Memphis and I'm sure part of Cal feels bad for leaving guys he recruited to Memphis.

The question is why is he transferring?  Many believe he wants to go close to home in California, like Jasper did.  UK doesn't help with that.

He would not likely get a whole lot of playing time by the end of the season, so would he be ok with this in his senior year?

Sallie is also considering playing pro ball somewhere now that he has his degree.  Only time will tell...
