Rumors have it Coach K will be or has been offered 15 million a year to take over the New Jersey Nets. The word a few weeks ago from Coach K was, if they win the National Championship he would be interested because he could go out on the bext note possible. Coach K finished up his 30th season...a good round number to depart on. Also he is very familiar with the NBA players not just by coaching many in college but he coaches the USA Olympics team filled with almost all NBA players.
Will he depart? If so how will this affect Kyrie Irvng? Will he still go to Duke without Coach K? We could possibly see the fall of Duke whenever Coach K does decide to go. Duke does not have the tradition prior to Coach K to stand on its own. They could land a top notch coach, but who wants to follow and be in Coach K's shadow?
I really, really, REALLY dont see this happening..as much as I would like to..

ReplyDeleteActually, the nets do have a future...they are this terrible by choice, they traded away all their good players to free up cap space for this summer. They have a TON of money to throw at Lebron and/or Wade and/or Chris Bosh...on top of all that, they will have a lottery pick and will be moving to a very favorable market (Brooklyn) in one season...the nets have been planning this, they cared nothing for this season.
