UK is at it again in Nashville and this has drawn attention to even the UT players. Bobby Maze came in and thought we were in Rupp Arena. "I'm looking around at all that blue and thinking, 'Aren't we in a city in Tennessee?' " Maze said. "I knew a lot about their tradition, but I didn't know how much Kentucky traveled. I had no idea they were going to book every hotel, that they were going to book all the clubs, all the events and buy up all the tickets. I mean, they travel like the Million Man March."
When asked if he thought UK had 80% of the fans in the building and he said it is more like 97%.
The question is can the players get up for the game on the level the fans are? #2 UK comes in 30-2 against #13 UT who is 25-7. UK beat UT in Rupp and was taken down in Knoxville.
Our guys said after the Alabama game, they were not ready as they thought they were. Alabama came in and played their heart out and we were lucky to pull out the win. This was evident from getting drilled on the rebounds despite being significantly bigger.
UK has got to outrebound UT and shoot better then 1-13 from three. Cousins needs to go off, even if he is double teamed.
Hopson has been struggling lately and keeping his confidence down will be important. Prince went off on us in Knoxville, it's time to shut him down. Many times on defense we do not go out and guard the center behind the arc, even when we are in man to man. Chism can shoot threes, so doing this when he is in there, is not a good idea.
Can we move onto the championship game? We shall see...the great news is, we are not on the bubble and this game does not mean the end of the world. We will still be a number one seed in the East win or lose. It is UT though and it would be nice to not only win but win the first SEC championship since 2004, give our young guys another game tomorrow to gain more experience and not to mention we as fans will get to see another game.
