Change! This not just a hockey term no more...

In hockey they yell change for an entire new team to hit the ice.  UK as of late has proven to follow suit.

After the 2008-2009 season the UK basketball team took a major overhaul and I'm not just talking about the coaching staff.  The amount of players who could have returned for various reasons did not.  Jared Carter although a senior could have applied for another year after sitting out a season with an injury.  Adam Delph gone, Kevin Galloway transferred, Mark Halsell gone, Jodie Meeks surprised many by going pro early, Dwight Perry goes to Stanford, Matt Pilgrim to Oklahoma St., Michael Porter gave up the game, Matt Scherbenske gone, Landon Slone gone, A.J. Stewart transfer, Donald Wiliams well you get the picture gone.

That is 12 guys who were on the UK roster in 08-09 and had eligibilty to return...there are many teams with only 12 players on their team.  Most of this went without much concern from UK fans because they were being replaced by Wall, Bledsoe, Cousins, Orton, Dodson and Hood.  The class of all classes.

Well it looks like UK may be calling for another "change!" but this one stings a little more because there is a ton of talent who look to be out the door.  Harris, Krebs, Stevenson are seniors.  Possibly leaving early: Wall, Bledsoe, Cousins, Patterson Orton and Dodson.  Not quite 12 guys but that is a ton of talent.

Yes...yes...UK will likely reload but there really isn't many top talent recruits left.  We are looking at having nine open spots.  Nine! We will have to top this years class just to fill the roster...

Can we do it? Sure...does this have me nervous? Absolutley.  Not much room for error...
